We got about 2 inches of snow today and it was the nice wet packy kind. The kids were so excited. We played outside all morning and built a cute little snowman. Jakob didn’t have school today because 2 inches of snow here is enough to close the whole city down. The snow gave way to rain around 3pm so in the morning it will probably be all gone. It’s suppose to be 50 degrees tomorrow

So this evening I decide to go to Target. I just walk in the doors and my phone rings. It’s Brian. He says, “we have a problem”. I say, “what’s going on.” “Can you come back home the kids locked me in the basement and they can’t figure out how to unlock the door.” So I book it back out to the car and head home. All these awful scenarios running through my head. Thinking what if someone gets hurt, Brian can’t get to them because he’s locked in the basement. Ugggh…. My target is like a mile maybe 2 away from the house but of course it’s 6:30 so it is still rush hour. So I get home 15 minutes later and walk in to find the kids sitting on the couch watching tv (god I love Noggin) as if nothing is going on. I get Brian out and all ends well. Score 1 for the kids 0 for the adults.

Brianna had her Christmas program at school today. It was cute. They sang 6 songs and Brianna sang all of them and they had hand moves to a few of them. For 4 year olds they did pretty good. Probably because “my” daughter and a handful of others sang loud enough to make up for those that didn’t know the words or were too shy.
Afterwards they had 3 craft stations and we made an angel tree topper, a candy cane ornament and a gingerbread house. That was when things went arie! Here I am trying to help Brianna make her gingerbread house while Sofie is eating all the candy that’s suppose to go on it and Jakob is getting upset because he can’t make one. (they only had 1 per student). I finally get Brianna to let Jake help and 30 seconds later she says, “I’m done, let’s do something else.
The angel topper was pretty easy. That went over with out any problems. Thank god! Then we move on to the candy-cane station. This consisted of a bunch of red and white beads that needed to be strung through a pipe-cleaner (I’m sure many of you have made these before). Anyways this took forever. It was great for hand/eye coordination and patterning but not great for a 2 year old to have to just sit and watch. Sofia wanted to get into the beads and wanted to make her own. She decided to have a mini-meltdown over it until I found her some blocks and put her in the corner to play. Jakob decided to sit and read a book so at least he was occupied. Brianna was doing really well at making her candy cane but it was taking her forever. Okay probably not forever but by this time I was about to lose my cool with trying to help her and keep Jake and Sofia busy. I finally convinced Brianna to let me finish her candy-cane so we could go. We got home in enough time to grab Jakobs backpack and head back out the door to take him to school.
Funtime!!!!!!!!!!!

Survivor finale was on tonight. I had to hurry up and get the kids in bed so I could watch it. I’m glad Todd won. I would have been a little disappointed if Courtney or Amanda won. I do like Courtney though. She says it like it is, reminds me alot of myself 5 or so years ago. That’s before I had kids and learned the art of being tactful.
We made gingerbread cookies today. Jakob and Brianna loaded the icing on super thick and then dumped 1/2 a bottle of sprinkles on top. Sofia just ate the icing, forget about the cookie.

Friday night we went to dinner at this Mexican restaurant. You know how they usually play music at the restaurant. Well Sofia looks at me and says, “mommy I don’t like this song” and I think nothing of it. “Okay honey it will be over soon.” A minute later she says it again and I realize it is the noise from the blender at the bar. I tell her, “Sofie that’s not a song it’s a blender. ” So all through out dinner when she heres the blender she is yelling, “I don’t like this song turn it off. I don’t like it turn it off.” I keep telling her it’s a blender but she doesn’t care cause she doesn’t like the blender song.
